Philosophy
"By in-house lawyers for in-house lawyers" is
the key-note of the post-degree study in antitrust
law at the Academy for scientific eduction of the University
of Constance, which has been established by Prof. Dr. Franz
Böni in co-operation with professors and experts
in antitrust law of international undertakings and
institutions. The study is managed and supported by
Prof. Dr. Böni.
"The speciality of this study is that it
considers the requirements of undertakings. ... not
to short and therefore with to less substance nor
to long and therefore with not enough efficiency
for the requirements of undertakings." (Dr.
Bruno Maier, Head of the Legal Department of the
Roche Group, co-initiator and lecturer of the post-degree
study)
"From my point of view, the advantages of
this study, compared to existing other seminars in
antitrust law, are that the study does not only consider
all aspects of antitrust law more intensively but
also offers the unique chance to exchange hands on
experiences between in-house lawyers more deeply" (Dr.
Christian Wind, General Counsel of Hilti AG; lecturer of the post-degree study)
Content and conception
A founded understanding of antitrust law is necessary
for every in-house lawyer because of the enormous legal
consequences of violations for an undertaking and its
employees.
The post-degree study in antitrust law is an intensive
seminar for in-house lawyers and other persons that
are confronted with antitrust questions. The focus
is given on the teaching of deep knowledge and practical
experience in the German, Swiss, European and international
antitrust law.
The post-degree study consists of lectures that are
practically oriented, of deep analyses of judgements
and decisions, of workshops with reference to the elaboration
of agreements and to the application of planned mergers
and acquisitions (interdisciplinary events).
Lecturers of the post-degree study are leading in-house
lawyers, professors, judges and representatives of
antitrust authorities.
The post-degree study takes places during three intensive
study weeks. After successfully passing a final exam,
an admitted certificate will be granted.
